LEAN MANAGEMENT – implementation time
Any treatment lasts and brings results only if the patient strictly follows the doctor’s instructions, takes medication daily, and finally – changes his lifestyle and thus prevents the recurrence of ailments. This simple analogy perfectly describes how and when to implement lean methods, as well as tools and techniques.

1. Change in the functioning of the company
This is because the goal of the change process is to “heal” the enterprise and restore its efficiency. However, without the active participation and involvement of the “patient” little can be achieved. You should be prepared for the fact that the introduction of improvements will take place continuously, using the method of small steps. One or two lean training sessions, even for the entire staff of the company, will not be enough, nor will one or two implementations. The staging of events is necessary for the smooth introduction of changes, while at the same time it allows to see the effects of actions already in the initial phase.
2. How long does it take to implement in a company?
The timing of lean implementation is an individual issue for each company. The introduction of change is also associated with complex reactions of employees and, above all, with resistance to the coming “new order.” Time is needed for the stage to pass and for everyone to become convinced of the proposals and responsibilities that will improve their work. In each enterprise, the implementation period is determined individually: sometimes it takes a year, but in other cases it can be, for example, five years. One thing is certain. It must be used, first of all, for employee training, which will introduce the new arrangements step by step, indicate their purpose, outline the perspective of the results. Employees must have time to personally believe in the change, to work on new habits, and in the transition stage – to make mistakes.
In building the competitive potential of the company using the concept of Lean Management, the priority of the management should be, first of all, to create a system of efficient information about changes, to take care of training that imparts specific knowledge and skills, to involve in it all employees who participate in the company’s processes and to constantly motivate them to develop. We assure you – it is worth it!
