Industry 4.0 – manufacturing flexibility
Industry 4.0 allows for increased capacity and flexibility in production, following the lean concept.
What is Industry 4.0?
The fourth industrial revolution is about creating an intelligent network of machines. All devices in the network can communicate with each other, and the data stored and collected in them can be analyzed and shared in real time. All these processes can take place without operator intervention.
Machines, manufactured items, production management systems and people can continuously exchange information using Internet protocols. Subsequent processes are informed in real time about all previously produced semi-finished products and order material from the warehouse themselves based on the production plan. The warehouse is operated with automated overhead cranes and delivers material to production using automatic RFID identification.
The introduction of Lean Management tools and techniques in a company allows for easier implementation of the solutions proposed in Industry 4.0.
